Define the production instructions and the checks relevant to the format: blending, fill weight or volume, appearance, packaging integrity and batch identification. Record changes against the approved specification.
Build the test plan around the product and destination market. Discuss identity and assay, microbiological limits, heavy metals, stability and other relevant parameters. Confirm the method, acceptance limit and responsible laboratory for each test.
Connect the approved specification, batch identifiers, test results and packaging version. Agree which records must be reviewed and who is responsible for release before the shipment milestone.
The laboratory and testing responsibility are specified for the project. Where an external laboratory is needed, its scope and reporting requirements are agreed as part of the test plan.
A certificate applies to its stated entity, site and scope. Product formulation, label, claims and destination-market requirements need their own review.
Request the relevant document package with the product and market you are considering. A sample report explains the document structure; the shipment record must identify the actual batch.
