An existing formula or an ODM concept

For OEM, send the quantitative formula and its revision, ingredient specifications, permitted substitutions and proposed pack. For ODM, begin with the intended users, US sales channel and product concept. NutraGuild coordinates the discussion with manufacturing partner. Its brochure received September 5, 2026 shows hard capsule references on pages 6–7; the suitability of your formula and manufacturing site still needs project-specific confirmation.

Capsule size does not define a fixed fill weight

The amount a capsule can hold depends on its internal volume and the blend's filling behavior, including density. Ask for an assessment using your actual blend and proposed process; a shell size alone is not a milligram specification. Distinguish total blend fill from the amount of a particular dietary ingredient. If the proposed serving will not fit the preferred capsule count, ask the team to assess size, count or formulation alternatives.

Keep shell and ingredient requirements explicit

  • Identify the shell material preference, color and any source or dietary restrictions. Confirm availability and suitability rather than assuming every shell option is offered.
  • Specify ingredient identity, form and amount, plus acceptable excipients and restrictions on substitution.
  • Ask which blend, filling and shell-compatibility questions must be resolved before sampling.
  • For a mineral product, clarify the mineral amount and the source compound separately; a compound mass alone does not establish the declared mineral amount.

Convert the 30,000-capsule baseline into packs

The partner MOQ baseline recorded September 15, 2026 is 30,000 hard capsules. At 60 capsules per bottle, this gives 500 bottles before allowances; at 120 capsules, it gives 250. A 60-count bottle with a proposed two-capsule serving contains 30 servings. These are planning calculations, not guaranteed pack quantities or dosage advice. Confirm packaging minimums and each formula or label variant separately in the quotation.

Review the sample and the specification together

  • Link the sample identifier to the formula, shell and packaging revisions.
  • Review capsule size, appearance and proposed fill against the agreed brief; log differences that need approval.
  • Agree the product specifications, test methods, sampling plan and acceptance criteria with the responsible quality team.
  • Request the agreed batch documentation for release. Appearance or capsule weight alone does not establish ingredient identity or content.

Define the finished bottle, not just the capsule

Specify count, bottle and closure, seal, label and any proposed moisture-protection components to evaluate. Ask how the chosen pack and storage conditions will be assessed for this formula. A shell supplier's general technical information is not evidence that NutraGuild's partner uses that shell or that a finished product has a particular shelf life. Confirm the materials actually quoted and the evidence required for any shelf-life statement.

Make quotations comparable

Use the same formula revision, ingredient sources, capsule count and test scope in each RFQ. Separate formulation work, samples, testing, packaging and freight from the recurring unit price. Confirm sample and production timing and their start conditions in writing. NutraGuild does not own the manufacturing facility; the agreement should name the production party, site and approval responsibilities.
